More than half full is better than half empty

by ETS! kitchen crew

With the new year upon us and our crockpot just barely over half full ($3,002 of our $6,000 goal), we're very grateful to all who helped fill it this far, but we also feel compelled to add another couple weeks to our fundraising drive to allow even more supporters to add to the mix.

To all who have donated, given ETS! gift subscriptions, etc., we thank you. We depend on donations and subscriptions for over two thirds of our meager $20-25,000 annual budget. We are continually humbled and appreciative of all those who send us donations and encouragement. You are the community that makes Eat the State!'s buffet of ideals, stubborn facts, critiques, and humor possible and worthwhile.

At the same time, while we stretch every dollar as far as we can, we'd like to do more. We'd love to publish more pages more frequently and expand our buffet offerings. We've got more good content than we have the resources to publish.

While our current level of fundraising helps us maintain our status quo (and keep our printer debt out of the red zone), it is not yet enough to help us take the next step of expanding our offerings in the new year. If you want to help us do that, please send a check to our PO box or donate electronically via our website: www.eatthestate.org.

We also pledge to do our best raising funds in other ways in 2005. If you want to help with that, the best way is to help us sell advertising to worthy businesses outside of the Wallingford neighborhood (which is currently doing more than its share in contributing to ETS! ad revenue). If you can help us with this, contact Lance Scott at info@eatthestate.org.
