Naomi Klein, award-winning author and anti-globalization activist, returns with The Shock Doctrine, in which she takes on Milton Friedman's laissez-faire, free-market economic theory of capitalism. Klein believes that the global economy resulting from the embrace of Friedman's work capitalizes on crises created by nature or war and has created a disaster-capitalism complex. In Nobodies: Modern American Slave Labor and the Dark Side of the New Global Economy, John Bowe travels from the agricultural lands of Florida to a welding plant in Tulsa to the factories and brothels of Saipan to compile a first-hand report on the working conditions that corporations in the global economy depend on but do their best to ignore. 7 PM. Al Staggs will perform Oscar Romero: A Martyr's Homily. Archbishop Oscar A. Romero was assassinated in El Salvador in 1980. 10 AM. Blessing Of The Animals Service. Bring your companion animals to church for this special service in honor of St. Francis and in recognition of the special place animals have in our lives. Pir Zia is the grandson of Hazrat Inayat Khan and was born and educated in America, receiving his training in Sufism from his father, the renowned Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and others.
